Visit of the Director General of Tehran Provincial Department of Environment to the SANA Research Center for Avian Health and Diseases

Dr. Abbasnejad, Director General of the Tehran Provincial Department of Environment, accompanied by a delegation of five deputy directors and senior managers, visited the SANA Research Center for Avian Health and Diseases. The visit was also attended by Eng. Eghtedar, Deputy for Natural Environment, and Mr. Karami, Head of the Wildlife Department.

At the beginning of the visit, Dr. Razmyar, Director of the SANA Research Center, welcomed the delegation and presented a report on the center’s activities, specialized capacities, and research programs in the fields of avian health and wildlife disease management.

The delegation then toured various laboratory sections of the research center as well as the SANA Avian Hospital, gaining firsthand insight into laboratory testing procedures, diagnostic processes, and specialized veterinary treatment services. During the visit, the hospital’s facilities, methods of caring for injured birds, and wildlife rehabilitation projects were also introduced.

Subsequently, topics related to the development of scientific cooperation, implementation of joint projects, strengthening disease surveillance networks, and exchange of specialized data between the SANA Research Center and the Tehran Provincial Department of Environment were discussed. Environmental officials expressed their appreciation for the research center’s scientific expertise and facilities and announced their readiness to expand mutual cooperation.

The visit concluded with an emphasis by both sides on continuing interactions and defining joint programs in the fields of avian health and biodiversity conservation.
